Female 6 years Level 2.0

Ready for Adoption Added May 03, 2019

Kaia is a beautiful sable female, with an old soul. She is about 6 1/2 years old.  She is a large girl weighing in at about 96 pounds.  She has a broken ear that the vet feels happened at birth, but that does not matter because she is still beautiful.  Kaia was a stray found in Stanislaus County.  We think she had a pretty hard life, possibly used for breeding purposes only and was never shown a lot of love, however that does not stop Kaia from seeking attention and giving back all kinds of love.

She is extremely sweet, eager to please, is potty trained and gets excited when the leash comes out.  She walks a little low to the ground and we are woking on building her confidence up.  She has learned to navigate narrow stairwells, hardwood floors, rocky and hilly terrains.

Kaia is being fostered in El Dorado with an older male.  She walks well on leash and seems to have little to no interest on other leashed dogs walking by.  She does not seem affected by loud noises, only if you raise a voice, so we think she was probably yelled at a lot.  Kaia prefers larger dogs, but needs proper introduction.  Kaia prefers a world without small dogs or cats.  She rides well in the car, slept in her crate and became quiet with very little correction at bedtime.  She can be a little mouthy during play, so at this time best to go to a home without children.

Kaia knows her basic commands, sit, down, stay, come and leave it.  She loves to go on long walks, retrieving tennis balls and swimminig.  Kaia is spayed, micro-chipped, current on her vaccinations and is ready for her forever home.

The newer pics of what Kaia looks like now - she is overweight.  The bottom pics are what she looked like back in 2017, so are you the person to help her get back to that look?
